A Love For Food…

The journey started in the SF Bay Area. The connection to the land began through a grandfather's 6-acre apple orchard in Sebastopol, CA. Summers were filled with sensory experiences: the sweet smell of tomatoes, the colors of the tomato rows, the crisp taste of cucumbers and turnips, and the sweetness of Golden Delicious apples. The experience as the "busiest farm girl" taught the profound connection between the earth and food.

This start cultivated a passion that has guided a whole adult life and career. Diverse areas of the food world were explored, such as the intricacies of grocery logistics, produce buying, providing administrative support, and sharing expertise as a chef educator. Each role fueled the desire to inspire others through a culinary journey.

During the school year, there is the privilege of teaching students in the after-school program at Laurel Elementary School, Menlo Park. Spreading the word about nutritious food to the youth of the community is important, along with offering support for their culinary dreams. It is hoped that these classes will empower these young people to make healthy lifestyle choices.
