Cooking & Lifestyle Camp: July 14-18 Downtown PA
A holistic cooking and nutrition program for all jr chefs, ages 10-14 (with exceptions always made!). This program focuses on the various ways food affects our lives, including how it nourishes our bodies, minds, and emotional wellbeing. In addition to sharing and preparing healthy vegetarian recipes, this camp includes other beneficial daily practices such as stretching and meditation for mental clarity, easy gardening as a group, community service, and much more! Jr. Chefs will be encouraged to explore complex flavors and will be trained in specific healthy cooking techniques. They will also get practice reading and understanding food labels, including portion size information, as well as which nutrients promote health. As a special bonus, the program will also review environmental 'green concepts' and actions which empower students to participate and take up meaningful activities and projects independently within their communities.

Ayyám-i-Há Party! All are Welcome!
Dear friends and neighbors, please join the Menlo Park Bahai Community in celebrating Ayyám-i-Há with unity, spiritual words and devotions, and a pizza dance party!
What does Ayyám-i-Há mean?
Ayyam-i-Ha has been translated into English as “Intercalary Days” which literally means that they are days inserted into the Baha'i calendar. Unlike the majority of Baha’i holy days that either celebrate joyous historical events or commemorate sorrowful dates of significance, Ayyam-i-Ha is a festival of the attributes of generosity, love, compassion, of praising God and friendship. It stands in contrast to the Fast, a time of abstinence and inner contemplation and transformation, following directly afterwards.
How is Ayyám-i-Há celebrated?
Baha’u’llah has reduced rituals and ceremonies to a minimum in the Baha’i Faith and so everyone celebrates Ayyam-i-Ha differently. Many communities and families share meals together and some exchange gifts. Ayyam-i-Ha celebrations can be elaborate and complex or they can be humble and simple. The beauty of these days is that little is required to make good cheer when you are in the company of friends and surrounded by an atmosphere of love.
